For 70 years, Searles has been welcoming families to enjoy a week or two by the sea with an easy holiday where the entertainment is taken care of, and 2024 is no exception. With a full programme of fun for all ages, take a look at what’s ahead…
Next Taylor Swift in the family? Enter Searles Got Talent!
Since the 50s, holiday parks have been running competitions in search of incredible voices, funny folk and marvellous magicians, and Searles is bringing the talent-spotting format bang up-to-date with its Searles Got Talent contest this summer.
Between 24 July – 28 August, guests are encouraged to sign-up and perform for the judges in heats, with each week’s finalists entered into a grand final that will take place this October – the lucky few will even receive free accommodation for the finals! Don’t worry, there are no nasty judges with Simon Cowell snipes, only good, family fun and a chance to shine in the spotlight, so take the plunge and show us what you’ve got.
Headline acts at Searles for summer 2024
Talking of Taylor, there’s a nod to the Eras entertainer on 20 August, when Lauren Porter as ‘So Taylor’ takes to the Searles stage, or catch Stacy Green as M!zz Pink on 8 August – just a few of the stellar headline acts performing over the summer.
There’s something for every generation, starting with some millennium musical inspiration at Club 00s on 23 July and Platinum Steps (as the names suggests, they’re a Steps tribute band!) on 15 August, or dial back a decade with 90s Britpop tribute band Parklife on 29 August.
For an altogether different beat, don’t miss The Dolly Popz, who bill themselves as three pop culture princesses living their best lives and sharing their BIG costumes, BIG moves and even BIGGER playlist of chart-toppers in their own inimitable style. And Ultra-Vibrancy, a UV puppet show on 27 July, and Believe a Bubble, a bubble blowing artist on 13 August are highly original and extraordinary entertainers – Britain’s Got Talent, eat your heart out!
From dawn to dusk, all-day entertainment at Searles
A perennial favourite, Adult Evening Bingo and Searles’ SuperStar quiz are great nighttime fun, but don’t miss the season’s big shows, which Adam Brown, head of entertainment and production of resort entertainments at Searles, masterminds.
Having delivered a fabulous 50s weekend to mark Searles’ 70th anniversary celebrations earlier this year, he also produced the leisure resort’s 60s House of Scouse, 70s Supremely Jersey, a Motown-inspired hit show, and recent 80s Rubix shows – be sure to catch them if you can during your stay.
“Our guests are largely families, many of whom return to Searles each year for their holiday,” says Adam, “and we want to create something new and fresh for each time they visit. Our goal is to keep people happy and entertained, and we aim to create lasting memories to make their holiday feel extra special.
“This summer, the entertainment programme is packed with plenty of shows and activities for all ages – we’ve got a new mascot, Ralphie’s Showtime Adventures, a mini superstar who loves to have fun and hang with our friendly SuperSquad, Sidney the Sealion, Cherry the Chipmunk and Leo the Lion, and our Teddy-tastic offers our youngest guests to create a huggable bear to take home to remember their summer holiday at Searles.
“With pool parties, games and cabaret performances, there’s tons going on all day long, and my team and I are looking forward to welcoming guests and making their summer holiday at Searles truly epic!”
